Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the literacy provision within the Academy. Alike, many schools in the country we have seen the impact of the pandemic have significant impact on the reading and writing ability of pupils. We are looking to appoint an individual who has the passion and enthusiasm to engage children through the love of their subject but has a desire to improve the quality of literacy at whole school level. If you are looking to make a difference to young persons’ lives, and work in an Academy that invests in your professional development too, then Bloxwich Academy could be for you.

Bloxwich Academy is a ‘good’ school with increasingly oversubscribed pupils on roll as a result of the quality education and pastoral provision offered here. Every child is an individual and we strive to ensure everyone can be the best they can be. With the increase in roll, we are looking to appoint another quality colleague to join our expanding English faculty. Our English faculty is fantastically resourced and has recently moved into a brand new, state of art building within the school. We strive to invest in children’s reading and writing and this continues to grow from strength to strength. A child’s literacy provides the foundation for their future and we aim to ensure our young people become rounded and successful citizens in their future career paths.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a good or outstanding classroom practitioner with a good understanding of how children learn.
  • Has a passion to make a difference in pupils’ lives.

We will offer you:

  • Excellent pupil behaviour.
  • A very well resourced English department.
  • Happy and enthusiastic children who enjoy school.
  • A caring and inclusive school with supportive, enthusiastic and dedicated colleagues, governors and parents.
  • Supportive Faculty and Leadership Teams, committed to providing quality continuing professional development and support.
  • A positive and innovative learning environment.
  • A fun place to work.

We aim for all of our pupils to be respectful, confident and motivated learners who are proud of their achievement and their academy.
