We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated & enthusiastic English teacher with ambition and passion for the subject to join our close knit community here at St. Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning. Our modern state of the art school is situated in Whiston, Merseyside and excellent motorway access to both Liverpool and Manchester (M6, M62 and M57) puts us within easy reach of the whole of the North West.  

A creative & dynamic approach to the teaching of English and an ability to enthuse others would be highly valued.

The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Subject Leader for English and the Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning) and follow Centre for Learning policies with regard to teaching and learning, assessment, reporting and pupil behaviour.St. Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning is committed to safeguarding, to promoting the welfare of children and adhering to the Equality Act 2010.  The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.  To comply with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 all prospective employees will be required to supply evidence of eligibility to work in the UK.

St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning (VA) is a co-educational voluntary aided school based in Liverpool for students aged 11-16. It is a Roman Catholic school.

St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning (VA) has affirmed that it aims to provide its students a high-quality education, which draws its distinctive character from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as well as Catholic traditions. 

The school intends to create a supportive and challenging learning environment for its students. There is a continual emphasis on tailoring the school curriculum to suit individual needs whilst at the same time being beneficial for all students.

The school also encourages participation in extra-curricular activities. Both girls and boys take part in competitive sports such as football and netball and the school’s gardening club has received much praise, winning awards at events.

The school’s pastoral support for students is very strong, and students are particularly knowledgeable about safety.
