With consistently outstanding educational achievements and excellent examination results at all levels, Doha College will be expanding over the next two years, to become a 10-form primary and 10-form secondary school operating across two campuses.

We are now looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Fine Art Teacher to start in September 2019.  This is a part-time position for approximately three hours a day for three days a week. The ideal candidate should have the ability to teach KS3 and be fully versed in visual & graphic arts, and the use of traditional as well as modern means to create them. You should also be able to teach different art techniques and digital methods to students of all ages and incorporate photography into lessons. Knowledge of art movements, both historical and contemporary are essential. The ideal candidate would be someone who can showcase their own work, while also inspiring their students to take risks, develop their creative skills and build their self-confidence. Candidates should also be able to showcase a portfolio of their past students work across all Key Stages. You should be fluent in the use of technology within the classroom and in the application of creative industry software such as Adobe Photoshop.

The department consists of 3 full-time teachers and offers programmes at all levels from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 leading to IGSCE and A Level examinations. At Key Stage 3, the department offers its own teaching programme which is based on the UK curriculum tailored to the needs of an international student body. At Key Stage 4, a two-year linear IGCSE course with Edexcel/Pearson is offered. This is also mirrored in the 6th Form where we offer both, the AS and A Level linear qualifications in Fine Arts.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays and all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry.

The department offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including workshops with local galleries and a weekly art club. We also run biennial fieldtrips to Japan. The department has strong commercial links with the major art institutions operating in Qatar which provides students with ample experience of art in action.

A high standard of written and spoken English is an essential requirement for all our positions.

This is a non-sponsored position based at our Al Waab Campus and only candidates with family sponsorship currently residing in Qatar will be considered.
