The Creative Faculty at Cansfield High School are looking to appoint a highly creative teacher of Food and Nutrition and Hospitality and Catering. This exciting opportunity would be ideal for a passionate practitioner who can inspire a love of food through the principles of nutrition and healthy eating.  The successful candidate will have outstanding practical facilities with which to engage and inspire our pupils, so that they see the value of cooking as a lifelong skill which is underpinned by a healthy and varied diet.  You will have the ability to instil within our pupils a strong sense of curiosity and wonder and realise each pupil’s potential.

As the successful candidate you will have an opportunity to grow this key subject area and to develop a sequenced curriculum from KS3 to the GCSE option of Hospitality and Catering as well as extra-curricular clubs and activities.  

You will need to: 

• Be determined to ensure all our learners achieve and develop their full potential;

• Be resourceful and inspirational in the classroom; 

• Be able to deliver engaging and creative learning experiences for all pupils; 

• Be able to encourage independent enquiry and skills in pupils; 

• Be able to enthuse, engage and motivate pupils;  

• Be able to form part of a highly dedicated and ambitious Creative faculty. 

This post is open to experienced and newly qualified teachers and is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and dynamic teacher who will be able to participate fully in the ongoing development of the subject as required in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.  The post offers the potential for additional responsibilities for the right candidate. 

The successful person will need to demonstrate a clear philosophy for the learning of all children; able to demonstrate proven communication skills; able to offer practical strategies that enable children of all abilities to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate should be able to communicate a deep and genuine interest in finding ways to involve young people in learning.
