Job overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with us at an enjoyable, disciplined, innovative Academy.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of Food Technology to work within our expert department. The post would suit an experienced food teacher or an NQT. NQT statutory induction is provided.
Food and Nutrition is high on the agenda at The Bourne Academy. It is our belief that all children should be equipped with the basic skills in order to be independent once they leave for further education. To that end all KS3 students have at least one hour of food per week and all ingredients are provided for them so that no student is disadvantaged.
Teaching and learning is the core focus at The Bourne Academy and staff are actively encouraged to constantly develop, experiment and reflect on their practice.
How to Apply
For an application pack and further details or to arrange a tour of the Academy, please contact Finola Gilson at hr@thebourneacademy.com or download an application form from our web site www.thebourneacademy.com.
Closing date for applications: noon Friday 26 Jan 2018.
This post is subject to enhanced DBS checks. We are an equal opportunities employer.

About The Bourne Academy
The Bourne Academy
The Bourne Academy is at the heart of the community of East Howe, offering local families an excellent education, new opportunities and facilities that are available to everyone. It aims to raise students’ expectations, build their self-confidence, and teach them appropriate skills that allow them to build a successful career and contribute to society. Our sponsors are Canford School, a leading independent school.
Canford believes that good education depends crucially on the relationships that are built up between staff, students, parents and the other stakeholders. Mutual support, pride, ambition, trust and high expectations all combine to allow impressive educational achievements against a background of respect for each other and an acknowledgement of each other’s contributions.
Key to building these relationships is the pastoral care at the Academy and the links between the Academy, parents and others in the local community, helped by the academy’s central location in East Howe.
