Job overview

TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY – MPR

Required September 2019

This post is suitable for either an NQT or a more experienced teacher.

Moulsham High School has an excellent academic record, a genuine commitment to the welfare and development of staff and high expectations of student behaviour.  The school was inspected in 2015 and was described as being good overall with many outstanding features.  The Real Schools Guide 2018 placed Moulsham in top 10% of all schools nationally.

We are looking for a high quality geography specialist, with a commitment to continuing professional development, to join our high performing geography department.  You will be required to teach geography up to and including G.C.S.E.  A level teaching could be available for a suitable candidate.

As part of the school’s humanities specialism, geography is a highly valued subject in the curriculum.  It is one of the most popular options at both KS4 and KS5 and boasts a proven track record of success at both key stages.  At G.C.S.E., 78% students achieved grades 9-4 in 2018.  All geography teachers have their own classrooms which are adjacent to each other in the humanities building and are fitted with projector, interactive whiteboard and internet access.  The successful candidate will be joining a very supportive and experienced team.

Moulsham High School has a close working relationship with an on-site early year’s childcare provider. This enables staff working at the school to receive a discount if full day nursery or wrap around care is required.

The post is suitable for either an NQT or a more experienced teacher.  NQTS teach a reduced timetable and participate in a thorough induction programme which is led by an Assistant Headteacher.

Visits to the school prior to application are most welcome and can be arranged using the contact details given below.

Closing date: Monday, 4th February 2019
