Job overview

Focus Learning Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding teaching professional able to teach Geography both face to face and online, by video conferencing, to our campuses nationally for Key Stages 3 to 5. There will also be a requirement to support primary classes in Humanities, as well as some PHSE and Citizenship delivery. Group sizes are small and learners are enthusiastic with excellent behaviour. The staff at the school are friendly and supportive of each other creating a lovely atmosphere to work in. Remuneration is more than competitive.

Focus schools seek to promote excellence in education and enjoy outstanding student achievement, engagement and behaviour, reflecting the Christian ethos and values of our schools. Teachers benefit from supportive colleagues and positive relationships with parents.

As small schools, online Teaching by video conference fulfils an important role in ensuring cohorts of students in our sister campuses have access to high quality education in specialist subject areas without requiring face to face content delivery.

We operate a flipped and self-directed style of teaching and learning which involves the use of pre-recorded video tutorials, online self-directed learning assignments via our ‘Canvas’ Learning Platform, as well as live video conferencing classes, small group and one to one scenarios. The monitoring of student progress and timely provision of appropriate feedback and individual support is regarded as essential to ensuring the success of the role.

We offer:

· Excellent working environment with good resources for teaching and learning

· New exciting concepts in education, which include Self-Directed Learning across all Focus Schools

· Students that are hardworking and positive about their learning

· Supportive colleagues and community

· Enthusiastic and motivated students

· Access to our new teacher academy, providing an opportunity to enhance your teaching experience with support for continued professional development, equivalent to 100 hours per academic year

· Access to cutting edge, world leading educational practice as part of the largest network of schools globally

Applicants should be passionate about raising student achievement and ensuring every child reaches their potential.

OneSchool Global UK Nottingham Campus (formerly Focus School Long Eaton Campus) occupies aesthetically pleasing buildings of good quality with many specialist facilities. It is generously staffed with professional teachers who are all fully qualified and experienced in their subjects. There is a strong emphasis through the Whole School Assessment Policy on students achieving their academic potential and considerable progress has been made in this regard.

Focus Learning Trust was established as a registered charity in 2003 for the advancement of education, primarily providing leadership and support to its network of 23 UK, non-selective, independent schools which are registered as schools with a religious character, following the national curriculum.

We are part of the OneSchool Global network – one of the most extensive and progressive networks of schools and educational support services in the world. With schools in 20 countries worldwide, our 9000 students are benefiting from the amazing results of global collaboration and cutting-edge educational methods.

In April 2019, the entire OneSchool entity rebranded globally, hence our new look and our name change from Focus School to OneSchool Global UK. This better reflects our teaching and learning strategy and makes us truly one global school.
