Our vision is to ensure the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background. We aim to achieve this vision through:

  • Delivering a high-quality education
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining high-calibre members of staff
  • Establishing and developing robust governance
  • Ensuring financial probity and viability
  • Developing a highly efficient trust infrastructure and central services
  • Establishing effective systems to support the sustainable growth of the Trust

About Us

We benefit from a strong local reputation which is the reason we have increased our admission number to 410. Our expansion has been facilitated by the acquisition of a third site for our popular Sixth Form in the town centre. This has led to a re-organisation of our students, with Year 7 and Year 8 educated at the Dove Campus and Years 9-11 at the Trent Campus, which are half a mile apart.

We were delighted by our January 2017 Ofsted inspection which emphasised the outstanding aspects of our work, including high levels of progress and attainment. We value our staff team, and this is reflected in the wide range of professional development opportunities which are offered both internally and externally. In recent years, we have developed an international reputation for learning technologies, becoming both an Apple Distinguished School and Regional Training Centre; we provide a 1-to-1 iPad programme for all students in Year 9-Year 13.

The Department

There are well-equipped specialist rooms on all three campuses, boasting an excellent selection of varied resources. It is Faculty policy to ensure access to new technologies, for example, all rooms have an interactive whiteboard, enhancing the use of interactive learning across the key stages. The Humanities Faculty is at the forefront of iPad use in the Academy. There is a very healthy “take-up" at GCSE and AS/A Level in all subjects, with significant levels of improvement over the last four years. Students from the Humanities subjects opt to continue their education at universities in a wide range of disciplines.

The Role

To be successful, you will be highly qualified and be able to support in the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject and seek to positively impact your field and Academy.

In Return
