Sutton Grammar School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic part-time (0.6) Teacher of German for a 1 year fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top performing schools in England and to contribute to the work of this popular, dynamic and successful MFL department.  The school teaches French, German and Spanish from KS3 to A level and works closely with the local initial teacher training provider. The successful candidate will have a passion for language learning, will seek to inspire students through their teaching and will contribute enthusiastically to the range of activities that the department offers, to ensure that it continues to achieve the highest possible standards and excellence across all age groups. Whilst we are looking to recruit a specialist German teacher who can teach to A level, we will also consider candidates offering an additional language.  Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome to apply.

The Sutton Grammar School MFL Department comprises six teachers and three language assistants. Two languages are compulsory for pupils at KS3 and at least one has to be studied for GCSE.  Girls enter the school in the Sixth Form and they have made a very positive contribution to languages at A level.  Film, song and drama are used extensively in the department and creativity is encouraged amongst teaching staff.  Trips are normally organised at KS3 to France, Germany and Spain, and sometimes in the Sixth Form too.
