The aim of the Home Language Department is for students, whose mother tongue is not taught as part of the school curriculum, to deepen their cultural and linguistic connections to their Home Country. We are looking for a German Home Language teacher to teach one Grade 10 students at a second language level. The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, flexible and willing to make meaningful contributions to the department. Teaching qualifications in Language and Literature are essential. This position has a flexible start date of around the start of February as approval to study the language is pending (but expected) for the student in question.
This position is to work with very small groups or individuals to pursue German at a Second Language level. Initially, we are seeking a teacher able to teach during the school day for approximately a 0.12 load. However, we envisage in time this role may well expand further.
As this position is part time, only candidates ordinarily resident in Singapore from January 2019 will be considered.

For all teaching posts the successful candidates will have a good first degree in their teaching specialism, a recognised teaching qualification and a proven track record as inspirational teachers. The ability to teach across the age and ability range from Grade 7 (12 year-olds) to IB Diploma level is preferred unless a middle school / IB Diploma specialism is specifically stated.
