Waverley Federation is seeking an inspiring, enthusiastic and experienced teacher of Hair and Beauty to work at Rodborough school on Tuesday and Thursday from September 2021.

The Waverley Federation is the 11-19 network for the Waverley area of Surrey. It is led by the Head Teachers and Principal of Broadwater School, Glebelands School, Godalming College, Gosden House, Rodborough School and Woolmer Hill School. The vision of the Head Teachers is to collaborate as partners to broaden opportunities for learners of all abilities by providing sustainable and creative opportunities and pathways.

The Hair and Beauty course, delivered in a specially designed suite based at Rodborough School, is part of a wide range of vocational and applied learning opportunities called Waverley Special Options. Courses provide stimulating vocational learning opportunities which encourage achievement and progression.

About Rodborough

We are a successful, popular oversubscribed 11-16 school near Godalming, Surrey. We have an excellent reputation for providing a broad and rounded education whilst challenging all students to achieve their best. Our students progress and achieve well. Our GCSE results are consistently high with 85% of students achieving five or more GCSE outcomes at grades 9-4 including English and Maths.

This is an exciting time to join the school. On 01 March 2021, Rodborough became a member of the Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT), which will provide further opportunities for students, and give staff many opportunities for collaboration within the trust. WMAT is a locally based trust that consists of four mainstream secondary schools and three special schools. 

What we are looking for

The post is open to qualified teachers and those with a background in Further Education, or for a qualified professional from the beauty industry who is looking for an opportunity to move into teaching. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and skills to undertake the research, planning, assessment and delivery of the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. 

The role is part time, 0.4fte, 2 days per week to be worked on Tuesday and Thursday throughout the academic year.
