Teacher of Hairdressing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and creative specialist to join our team, initially on a one year, fixed term contract. 

The post is open to both those with qualified teacher status and those with other relevant vocational qualifications.  

We pride ourselves in offering our students a broad and balanced curriculum and this includes offering Hairdressing at both Key Stage 4 and 5. 

At Key Stage 4, we offer a Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing, where students are taught practical skills underpinned by theory lessons focusing on research skills, design brief skills and science knowledge.   At Key Stage 5 we offer Level 3 technical diplomas in Hairdressing.  These courses comprise of practical units, end point assessments and a final synoptic practical exam, and a theory curriculum running alongside with 2 external exams.  

Your excellent subject knowledge and practical skills will be underpinned by a passion for teaching and the ability to apply a range of teaching and learning strategies. You will possess the ability to work effectively with all students, engaging them through exciting, yet challenging, lessons and embedding a culture of positive behaviour for learning. Most importantly, you will be committed to our school ethos of ‘all different, all equal,’ instilling high expectations in all our students.
