Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.
In November 2014, Ofsted graded Sir Harry Smith as a “Good school where students are proud of their school and behave with respect and consideration towards each other”. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and Ofsted recognised that the relationships between staff and students were positive.
We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Health and Social Care and Children’s Play, Learning and Development who must be an enthusiastic, inspirational and innovative classroom practitioner and who can bring their dedication and commitment to a team that strives to provide the best opportunities for our students. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and NQTs. The ability to teach Health and Social Care and Children’s Play, Learning and Development at Key Stage 5 is desirable.
The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full satisfying role in society.
