A well-qualified, inspiring and dynamic graduate is required to teach History and Politics. We have one of the largest and most successful Sixth Form Departments for History and Politics in the UK with over 50% of girls studying one or other subject. 41 girls study IB History, 71 do A Level History and 44 take Politics at AS and A level. 70% of the GCSE cohort study History. The Department enjoys a high reputation for good teaching and dedicated support of the girls amongst the pupil and parental bodies. 

The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of professionals in a department that is well-resourced, and where full support with induction and CPD is provided. The Department is proud of its lively and collaborative approach and aims to get the best from its students in ways that are intellectually demanding, creative and stimulating. 

All teachers are expected to contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the College, but there are no residential duties.

College first opened its doors in February 1854 with the purpose of providing girls with a thorough academic education.
