Are you a History teacher who loves their subject?  Do you believe that teaching  History should be central to a good school curriculum?  Are your students inspired by your teaching?

John Flamsteed Community School is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school located in Denby, Derbyshire within easy reach of Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and the Peak District. We are a founding member of the East Midlands Education Trust and work in close partnership with other academies within the Trust.  We enjoy an excellent local reputation and our intake has expanded from four to six forms of entry in recent years.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious History teacher to join our already successful Humanities Department where History and Geography are taught as separate academic subjects.  We expect a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons alongside exceptional organisation and interpersonal skills.  The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge, understanding and experience for improving learning experiences and raising standards with an ability to teach History across all abilities and age groups from KS3 to A-level.

The post would suit NQTs (with a one-year induction programme) or more experienced teachers looking to further their careers in an ambitious environment.
