This is an exciting opportunity for a new or experienced teacher of History to join a highly successful and supportive team.

Lymm High School is a well-established, 11-18 school with over 1950 students (400 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. Rapid and sustained improvement in recent years led to a Progress 8 score of 0.56 in 2019, with 9-4 and 9-5 basics measures at 70% and 90% respectively. It is also a lovely place in which to work; in addition to our good fortune with our physical surroundings, staff are exceptionally positive, committed and supportive.

History is a popular subject with a healthy uptake at both KS4 and KS5. Results have been consistently strong. Results in History are strong, in 2019 the GCSE grades were 35% 7+, 78% 4+ and a progress score of 0.5. Uptake at A-Level is good and results equally so, with 64% A*-B in 2019.

This post would suit an NQT as well as someone who has already been teaching for a few years. We are as interested in your potential and determination to become a first class practitioner as we are in your experience to date.

 About Lymm High School

Lymm High School is a non-selective, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Lymm, Cheshire, and has just under 1,900 students on its roll, including nearly 360 in the sixth form. The school currently has an Ofsted rating of “good”. 

It is believed that Lymm High School was founded roughly 400 years ago. The earliest known reference to the school is in a church document dated 1592, which mentions the "Master of Lymm School".
