Hollygirt School is a small independent school, educating children from the age of 3 up to 16. We take a non-selective intake and have pupils of a wide ranging ability profile.

A small number of our pupils are on EHC plans, many have additional access arrangements for examinations. We take a two form entry into Senior School. Classes are small.

Hollygirt School is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of ICT/Computer Science from September 2018 or sooner.

The ICT department comprises one teacher in the Senior School, who manages the administration for ICT/Computing in Senior School and works with the Junior Subject Co-ordinator on cross-phase planning. Currently the post holder teaches Year 6. The role includes co-ordinating and teaching ICT/Computer Science throughout the school to GCSE.

On the current timetable additional to the Computer Science/ICT teaching, are a number of Junior School lessons (as stated above), some PSHE teaching and some Design Technology lessons (Year 8 and 9 electronics). The latter two are unlikely to feature in the 2018-19 timetable.

The GCSE option is very popular. Currently we are offering the OCR specification.

The position is 0.85 FTE this academic year but it would be a full time role for a NQT or recently qualified teacher (or for the right applicant with other desirable skills). There is a possibility for the right applicant that it could be full time and also some flexibility if fewer hours are required for next academic year. We are about to commence a rolling programme of upgrading of our hardware.

As a small school, duties and responsibilities are shared. Additionally, all staff are expected to contribute to the extra-curricular programme.

This post is a teaching position. The post holder is not responsible for managing the network. Hollygirt has its own salary scale: £20,571- £35,026 FTE depending on experience. There is a small additional payment for the administrative co-ordination of the subject.

Hollygirt School is an all-through, mixed independent day school for pupils aged three to 18. It used to only take boys to age seven, but is now fully co-educational.

The school has about 220 pupils and is located on the northern fringes of Nottingham city centre in the East Midlands. The school can trace its foundation back to 1877, although it relocated to its current base in 1913.

The school is split into four: early years (three to five-year-olds); junior school (seven to 11-year-olds); and senior school (11 to 16-year-olds); Sixth Form (16-18-year-olds).

Hollygirt School is a charitable trust under the name The Rhoda Jessop Educational Charity. The trust is overseen by a small group of Trustees, who also act as governors of the school.
