We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Teacher of (Modern Foreign) Languages for our expanding 4-19 free school to cover a maternity vacancy. The role is to cover a teacher on Maternity Leave for at least seven months from April to October 2018.

As Temporary Teacher of (Modern Foreign) Languages you will join a strong team of inspirational teachers and ensure that our students enjoy and achieve highly in their Languages learning. You will be a German specialist in the secondary phase, with the ability to run German speaking examinations and be familiar with the new AQA GCSE specification.
The Languages Department at Gildredge House prides itself on the use of innovative teaching techniques and ICT so you need to be tech-savvy and open to new ideas, as well as prepared to contribute plenty of your own. We’re very keen to hear from NQTs and recent entrants to the profession. This is an exciting time to join our Languages Department, with opportunities for professional development in the company of excellent practitioners.
At Gildredge House, all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 currently enjoy a rich Languages curriculum, with a foundation of French and Latin in Year 7, and the additional option of Spanish or German in Years 8 and 9. All students will take at least one of these through to GCSE, but many will take two languages or even three. As part of our Languages Department, you will immediately find yourself engaged with talented, hard-working and committed students with a desire to take their learning to the highest level.
As an all-through school, our teachers also have the opportunity to engage with and enhance the primary Languages curriculum. French is currently offered as a weekly lesson to students in Reception to Year 2 and Languages will continue to be part of the curriculum of the Lower and Middle School (Years 3-6) sections of the primary phase as they grow. Japanese, Ancient Greek and Italian have in the past been offered as part of our exciting extra-curricular programme in the Middle School.
