Full Time, Permanent Contract
Main Pay Scale / Post Threshold Pay Scale for outer London
Starting date: 1 September 2018
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our department. You will be a key member of the department where colleagues work closely together to share good practice, develop the resources and support each other. If you are an enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic teacher with the ability to work effectively with colleagues as part of a team, we eagerly await your application. Applications from either newly qualified or experienced teachers are welcome.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our school as we build upon our success with excellent results at GCSE and A level, both of which contributed to us being awarded ‘Comprehensive School of the Year 2016’ by The Sunday Times. The school is also entering a new stage of development and joining a MAT with 3 other local secondary schools which will bring opportunities to collaborate and share best practice.
The attached pack includes the job description and person specification as well as information about the school and the department. Further information can be found on our website. We will use the person specification as the basis for the selection criteria.
Closing date for receiving applications is by noon on Monday 19 February 2018.
The Waldegrave Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students; We expect all staff to share this commitment and an enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought.

About Waldegrave School
Waldegrave comprises an outstanding comprehensive school for girls aged 11 to 16 years, together with a successful mixed sixth form of nearly 400 students. We are a school whose aim is that everyone enjoys learning, feels valued and experiences success.
The school employs over 150 staff. School lunches, grounds maintenance and cleaning are provided through competitive contracting. There is a strong commitment to training and professional development, and the work/life balance of all staff.
Waldegrave School firmly believe that the most successful students are those who really throw themselves into the life of the school. The opportunities here are many and varied and all students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and make the most of leadership opportunities they are given both in and out of lessons.
Waldegrave was given an Outstanding by Ofsted in 2018. Through a recent ungraded inspection, October 2024, this standard has not changed.

We encourage teachers and leaders to work collaboratively, whilst maintaining individual autonomy, to develop the curriculum and school to be the best it can be. We are a Googleschool and whilst maintaining the rigour of traditional learning we embrace the use of new technology to support this. Utilising this technology is also a key part of how we can work more collaboratively and improve communication as a school, supporting more flexible approaches to working. Behaviour for learning is strong and underpinned by clear policies and support for staff and students. Our inclusion and well-being teams are excellent and provide integrated support, care and understanding.
Support staff are valued and respected, and work collaboratively with teaching staff. They are integral to our ability to provide a safe, and happy environment in which students can thrive.
Based in Twickenham, in the leafy London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, we are fortunate to be set in spacious and attractive grounds over a 14.5 acre site. The school is close to transport links, both buses and trains. There is also parking available on site for staff.
