Corfe Hills School in a fabulous location within easy reach of Bournemouth and its beaches, Poole and its harbour, the Jurassic Coast and the Dorset countryside. The school serves the catchment area of Broadstone, Corfe Mullen and the wider area and we truly believe that all of our students are exceptional. The school was most recently graded as “requires improvement” and has made significant changes to ensure that all students reach their potential. The leadership team and wider staff body are all extremely passionate about ensuring that all students “learn to the max” every lesson. The school has embraced this period of change and welcomed the challenge that OFSTED set us.
Our 2018 results demonstrate the impact of these changes with rapid improvement in attainment and progress. 83% of students achieved grades 4 to 9 in English and 80% grades 4 to 9 in Mathematics. The number of students with both English and Mathematics at grades 5 to 9 has risen a massive 12% between 2017 and 2018 to 49%.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious person to teach mathematics across the full ability range at Corfe Hills School. We are willing to support an exceptional candidate through the qualifications process to become a specialist mathematics teacher whilst working at Corfe Hills School. This may be an appropriate route if you are currently teaching within a different area of specialism or working as a HLTA. The desire to teach to GCSE level is required and teaching at AS/A2 level is desirable. As a classroom practitioner you would need to demonstrate the desire to develop exceptional classroom practice and be able to motivate and inspire students. This will involve 100% commitment to our vision which is captured in our strapline “High Expectations | Exceptional Individuals”.
The Department
You will join a highly successful department that has achieved excellent, and continually improving, results at KS4 and KS5. Our provisional Progress 8 score for Mathematics this year is 0.44 with 80% of students achieving 9 to 4 and 59% of students achieving 9 to 5.
