South Hampstead High School, Independent Girls’ School of the Year 2022, has an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified teacher to join our Mathematics Department on a full time basis.

You will plan, prepare and deliver stimulating and engaging Mathematics lessons to highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13, utilising an appropriate range of teaching strategies and resources that help students to achieve learning objectives and to excel in the subject.

We are looking for a qualified teacher, with a proven track record and a demonstrable passion for Mathematics. You will be capable of teaching Mathematics up to and including A Level, and can teach Further Mathematics to Years 12 and 13. We welcome applications from ECTs and those looking to begin a career in teaching.

The Mathematics Department

Mathematics is a popular subject at South Hampstead and our students achieve excellent results at both GCSE and A Level.

The Department also offers a vibrant co-curricular provision. All girls in Years 7 to 11 participate in the Junior or Intermediate Mathematical Challenge and all A Level students sit the Senior Mathematical Challenge. We also enter teams each year in the Team Maths Challenge and the Senior Team Maths Challenge. The Department organises a very popular maths help clinic each week, as well as trips to relevant lectures.
