On behalf of the Academy Committee, we are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Mathematics, Subject Lead to join our school and Mathematics department at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School within The Romero Catholic Academy. This is an exciting time to be part of a growing team as we strive for academic excellence for all students in our care.
The Teacher of Mathematics, Subject Lead, is an ideal opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge and to help lead the department in the drive to raise standards. The ability to teach up to KS5 is essential. The role will involve supporting the Head of Maths in improving standards.
Students build on their knowledge and experience from Key Stage 2 and are increasingly introduced to a variety of problem solving activities throughout their Cardinal Wiseman journey. We endeavour to bring their mathematical experiences to life with traditional methods of teaching, along with encouraging students to use online resources such as Hegartymaths. As a PiXL school, we also have access to a wide variety of activities and resources aimed at improving student progress.
Cardinal Wiseman is an 11-18 school in the north-east of Coventry which is on a journey of improvement. The school’s A-Level results were the best in the city in 2016 and in 2017 maths had a 100% pass rate and 56% at grades A*/A. At KS4 students achieved 60% grade 9-4 for mathematics in summer 2017. These posts are instrumental in driving improvement in the school to enable even more students to achieve their full potential. If you are a dynamic, passionate and motivated teacher of mathematics who is focused on helping students achieve their true potential, we would welcome your application.
