For September 2024 Thornton College are looking to appoint a full-time teacher of Mathematics to teach across the ability range at KS3, KS4 and KS5, including Further Mathematics.

There is an ambitious school development plan in place and our most recent ISI inspection report judged the school to be ‘Excellent’ in all areas. The ideal candidate will be not just enthusiastic, but deeply passionate about the teaching and learning of Mathematics, with the vision, commitment and determination to continue raising standards for all our students. We welcome applications from all, including ECT and developing teachers.

She/he will inspire and challenge our young people to enable them to develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their potential as individuals, both during their time at Thornton and in the future.

The opportunity exists for management/leadership responsibilities, including Educational Visits Co-Ordinator and/or Co-Curricular Co-Ordinator. Should you be interested in applying for both the teaching and leadership positions, please make this clear in your covering letter.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
