Thank you for your interest in the post of Teacher of Maths and Computing.  This will be a full time role with roughly 60% Maths and 40% programming.   

Our priority is to deliver excellence in all aspects of this wonderful school - we have done this through nurturing and empowering our passionate staff, by fostering a culture of ideas, energy and possibilities and by a relentless focus on developing each girl to the best of her ability. We are expanding our school roll and have ambitious plans for the development of facilities.

The Mathematics Department is a busy and successful one, highly regarded within the school, with pupils consistently achieving excellent results.  It consists of the Head of Maths plus three full time teachers and one part time teacher.   In addition to the curriculum we organise many activities including UK Mathematics Maths challenges, attending maths masterclasses at the Royal Institution and participating in the Soton Cipher challenge.  

Computing at St Augustine’s has grown significantly over the last 5 years and continues to prove a popular examination option. This is an excellent opportunity for the right, ambitious candidate to advance an already successful department.  This is a school which values professional development and there are many ways in which the right candidate will be able to contribute to the wider strategic aims of the both departments  and the School as a whole including its approach to digital strategy.

The successful candidate will join one full time teacher of Computing and one other non subject specialist. The department prides itself on providing exciting opportunities that link STEM subjects across a variety of creative and relevant extra curricular clubs and competitions. We pride ourselves on our exceptional results at GCSE [33% 8-9; 77% 9-7]. 

The Computing Department plays a key role in supporting staff and students in their digital skills as well as ensuring that the school effectively delivers a digital responsibility curriculum that is fit for an ever changing world. the successful candidate will have a role  in shaping the school's approach to digital strategy meaning collaboration with staff across the school is essential. 

Our small class sizes in Key Stages 4 and 5 enable us to give a more personalised learning experience.  This in turn enables girls to gain confidence and life-long skills resulting in grades well above their expected targets.
