Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and future career in a vibrant and innovative Secondary School. The William Allitt School is a 11-16 school in a small town close to the Peak District and near to the cities of Derby and Nottingham.  We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join and further strengthen our small specialist team.

Working with our planned curriculum, the right candidate will engage and inspire our students, allowing them to make outstanding progress and achieve strong results.

New teachers at the school benefit from an extensive induction programme with an allocated mentor and an extensive programme of subject specific and whole school CPD. “Staff’s professional development is central to the drive for improvement” – Ofsted Feb 2022.  We recognise and reward talent and skills, with many staff gaining additional TLRs within the school.

The school prides itself on the wide educational experience offered to students, including the exciting RISE programme in Year 7, varied enrichment opportunities and a curriculum that supports success in academic and vocational qualifications. All students have personal laptops and staff maximise the opportunities offered through this technology, including maths specific programmes as part of the curriculum and for home learning.

We recognise that a journey to academic success requires a breadth of specialist support, and our school ethos and core values mean that students benefit from a team approach where quality teaching is supported by our clearly defined behaviour policy and enhanced by strong, intuitive pastoral support.

Please see the below details for applying and do get in touch if you have any queries. We are happy to talk through any questions or queries and would consider requests for part time working. We very much look forward to hearing from you.

Applications should be made using the DCC Teacher Application form, be accompanied by a letter giving brief details of your experience to date and be submitted to JScott@williamallitt.derbyshire.sch.uk by 3pm Monday 23rd May with interviews planned for Wednesday 25th May 2022.
