Raising Standards and Achievement

Teacher of Maths ~

Recruitment & Retention is possible for an exceptional candidate.

Blackburn Central High School with Crosshill is an ambitious, passionate, improving and richly multi-cultural 11-16 school with approximately 900 students. We achieved ‘GOOD’ from Ofsted in May 2017 and is now working hard to consolidate that whilst ‘Striving for Outstanding’. The school opened in 2012 in a state-of-the art new building, which provides a bright, motivational and inspirational learning environment. The school is ideally located in the heart of its community where its outstanding facilities are allowing it to have an increasingly positive influence.

Expectations are high and staff work exceptionally well to ensure that all students achieve their best. Standards have consistently improved in recent years and record results in 2017 are a testament to the relentless focus on Outstanding Teaching & Learning.

We are a popular, thriving school based in the heart of our community.

There are no secrets to an excellent education: it entails good teaching and learning, strong support and hard work. We pride ourselves on knowing and caring for all our students whilst having high expectations and ambitions for them all.

We want the best for all our students, we want them to stretch themselves and reach further than they ever thought possible. Our students aspire and achieve in both their academic and personal development.

We are very proud of our students; they are smart, successful, polite, well behaved and keen to learn. Positive relationships between staff and students are key to our success as we know young people are inspired to learn from the people they trust and respect.

Headteacher

Shanaz Hussain

Ofsted

"Pupils are proud to attend this school. They have warm and trusting relationships with staff. Pupils told inspectors that they appreciate the family atmosphere of the school, where everyone is equally valued.

Leaders and governors have high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Pupils respond positively to the challenges set for them. They enjoy learning and achieve well.

Diversity is not just tolerated at this school, it is celebrated. Pupils and staff have won national recognition for the work that they have done to promote inclusion. There is a well established culture of respect. Bullying is rare. Leaders have systems in place to tackle any incidents of bullying or poor behaviour swiftly and effectively. Consequently pupils are happy and safe."
