This is an exciting opportunity to join the established team within the Maths Faculty from October 2018 to cover for a colleague going on maternity leave.    You will be required to teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4.  You need to have flair and passion for your subject and be able to inspire our students to achieve their ambitions.  You will have the opportunity to work with like-minded teachers within the faculty.  Applications from newly qualified teachers and teachers seeking experience in a second subject are welcomed.  

IES Breckland is a school for children aged between 11 and 16 and an important part of the community in Brandon. Our GCSE Maths results continue to improve year-on-year and our outcomes for 2018 were 74% of students achieved a grade 4 or above, an increase of 17% on the previous year. 

IES Breckland is a good school.  Ofsted, September 2017 said “The behaviour of pupils is good and the school environment is calm and purposeful. Pupils are confident and self-assured and wear their uniform with pride”. They also found that “Staff overwhelmingly praised the supportive leadership of the school” and “New teachers value the good quality training, support and guidance they receive.”

Breckland School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Brandon, Suffolk. It is run by Sabres Educational Trust.

There are 550 students on the school roll, aged from 11 to 16, expected to grow to 600 in a few years. Breckland School has well-established links with local primary schools and post-16 providers. The school offers a variety of enrichment activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award, as well as local, national and international trips and visits.
