Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust, comprising of eight schools, six primary schools and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Students are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

Carleton High School, part of Pontefract Academies Trust, has been named as the most improved school in the North of England, according to the Fairer Secondary Schools Index, published by the Northern Powerhouse Partnership. One of our top priorities is to attract exceptional staff to Carleton High School, and we continue to recruit a number of highly gifted employees to join our team.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed Teacher of Maths to join the team at Carleton High School. The candidate will be responsible for securing outstanding outcomes for students through outstanding provision, as well as demonstrating high quality teaching to ensure students make accelerated progress. They will plan work in accordance with the Trust’s schemes of work, and uphold the highest standards of learning and achievement for all students.

This is a 1 FTE, with a start date of September

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person who:

  • has a passion for helping pupils thrive and meet their full potential.
  • has a friendly manner and can communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • can work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
  • has experience of working in a similar specialist area.
