Job overview
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a full-time Teacher to join our Media team at the Joseph Wright Centre.
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is ready to deliver an outstanding experience to our students.
You will need to have teaching experience in Media or an industry related area and be a forward thinking and innovative teacher with students at the heart of your work. You will also be required to have practical expertise such as editing and digital production skills using a variety of Mac based software. The department offers a range of qualifications that are both vocationally based at levels 2 and 3 and A level based. The successful candidate will be required to teach across vocational and academic programmes.
The successful candidate will need to prove that they are highly effective at planning a programme of study that has outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and also harnesses the powerful input of employers, enrichment and pastoral elements so that all of our students can reap the benefits of this stimulating industry.
In addition to the requirements detailed above, candidates will need a recognised teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one and achieved a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in maths and English. Please see the job description for more details.

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
