Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Academy, where putting students first is a fundamental part of our culture. We strongly believe that positive outcomes for our students come from the professionalism, commitment and passion for excellence displayed by our staff.

We are looking for an outstanding classroom teacher with the ability to teach Media Studies and Photography to KS4. This will be a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a strong and rapidly growing department and to help shape the teaching of GCSE photography and media at our school. The candidate will need strong subject knowledge in photography and film making in particular, a good understanding of how to use Photoshop and film making software and experience using digital SLR cameras is also very important.

This is an exciting opportunity because we are looking for someone who will help lead and shape the brand new teaching of media studies at the school, having an influence on how the subject is taught and the chosen areas of focus, working closely with the Art and Photography department to create an exciting and highly creative course to include photography, film and game design.

Experience teaching GCSE photography is essential as you will need to have the ability to inspire and develop both staff and students in order to raise standards and maximise potential in this area.

Experience teaching GCSE media studies or film in some capacity would also be desirable.

You will need to be either an outstanding classroom practitioner already, or an NQT that can demonstrate the potential to become outstanding quickly, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
