Required for September 2019, highly motivated and inspirational Teacher of MFL
St Mark’s C of E Academy is a vibrant and diverse 11-18 academy situated in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. The school was rated Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2017) and has much to celebrate. We are the first secondary school in London to be awarded the prestigious International Values Quality Mark in recognition of the manner in which our values of love, hope and trust permeate all our work. ‘The school’s provision for the personal development and welfare of pupils is outstanding. It is highly enriching and supportive and focuses on ‘values in action’. Pupils are confident, thoughtful and articulate.’ (Ofsted 2017)
We are now looking to recruit an inspirational Teacher of Spanish and French who is dedicated to helping every child succeed. We require someone who can teach Spanish to Key Stage 4 or 5 and French to at least Key Stage 3. You will join a small but extremely motivated and high performing team, committed to a creative and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, and to instil in our students, a passion for Languages. At a time when nationally languages are declining, we are looking to expand and develop our teaching and learning and the overseas trips that we can offer. The successful candidate will benefit from a collaborative and supportive environment whether they are newly qualified or looking for the next step in their teaching career. ‘The school has a well-planned professional development programme for teachers, which identifies strengths and areas for development relating to the quality of teaching’ (Ofsted 2017)
St Mark’s Church of England Academy is a community firmly founded on the core values of love, hope and trust. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the development of the school as we continue to successfully raise standards and rapidly move from Good to Outstanding. Our dedicated staff have a strong moral purpose, providing a collaborative, professional and highly supportive ethos. If you believe you have the vision and passion to work in an exciting, dynamic and innovative Academy which is committed to raising attainment, expectations and standards, we would love to hear from you.
