The Music Teacher will support the Positively Kellett Learner Profile and there will be an emphasis on developing independence, responsibility, creativity, and confidence. The successful applicant will be an accomplished musician and committed to continue building on the existing excellent provision.

The Music Teacher will work with the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 teams to create a provision that supports children’s development as active, engaged learners in an inspiring, creative and music rich environment. Through exceptional leadership, guidance and support, children will feel happy and secure and make strong progress in all areas of the music curriculum. They will work to ensure excellent learning outcomes for all students, while also demonstrating excellence as a class teacher. 

The Music Teacher will contribute to whole-school self-evaluation and school improvement planning. They will also have a significant responsibility for formative and summative assessment.  

About the Candidate: 

The successful applicant will be an accomplished musician and committed to continue building on the existing excellent provision.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:-   

  • An innovative and creative approach to providing  an outstanding education beyond the National Curriculum   
  • The ability to inspire, challenge, support and empower students and colleagues towards excellence   
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish good working relationships across
    the school community   
  •  Excellent communication (written and spoken) and presentation skills in English   
  •  Commitment to a Foundation to Year 13 school philosophy with the highest levels of pastoral care  
  • An understanding of the importance of continuing and enhancing the strong links already in place with Preparatory/Senior   colleagues to ensure a seamless curriculum and transition from Preparatory to Senior.

Recent UK experience and knowledge of UK independent sector schools is desirable but not essential. Applicants will have strong ICT skills and a proven ability to use technology to support learning.

Kellett is a through-train school from Reception to Year 13 with two preparatory campuses and one senior campus.  Student roll currently  1396; Senior 645;  KLB Prep 322;  PFL Prep 478

Kellett is a through train school with campuses in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon Bay. The Pok Fu Lam campus is a Preparatory School (for ages 4-11 years old) in Wah Fu at the foot of Mount Kellett and overlooking Kellett Bay, while the Kowloon Bay campus houses a Preparatory and Senior School for students from 4 -18 years old.
