We have an exciting opportunity for a part time PE teacher to join our thriving PE Department. Timetabled hours will be 0.6 (FTE).

 

Join our dynamic department as a Teacher of PE at our prestigious girls' school, catering for students aged 3 to 18 years old. As a leading institution renowned for its commitment to holistic development, we prioritise the advancement of physical fitness with fair play, integrity and spirit, alongside academic excellence .

Our successful and committed Physical Education department prides itself on excellent results both with sports teams and within the classroom. Colleagues within the department work very closely together to meet its vision of providing an environment where every girl enjoys sport and achieves individual success.

The successful applicant will hold QTS, with the post suiting an ECT or someone wishing to further their experience. The applicant will be enthusiastic, ambitious, organised yet flexible – in short, we require a teacher with flair and drive who is keen to work in a busy department.  

Our school offers a comprehensive program of activities which is tailored to the needs and interest of our students and it is desirable to have experience of coaching and/or teaching Netball and Trampolining. The department deliver both GCSE and A-level Physical Education and it is desirable that the applicant has the ability to deliver the Anatomy, Physiology and Biomechanical Movement components of the A-Level specification. 

It is essential that the applicant can contribute to different areas of the curriculum across all Key Stages as well as the extensive extra-curricular programme we offer at Durham High School.  

A passionate and motivated approach is required as the successful applicant will play a key role in school sport and will contribute to our legacy of sporting excellence.
