The Governors of St Joseph's Catholic High School are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Teacher of Performing Arts from September 2021 to cover maternity leave. The role will suit an experienced or newly qualified teacher.
St Joseph's was given a Good in Ofsted 2016 and has improved further since that inspection. We are a happy school with students who are well-mannered and welcoming. Our systems for behaviour and student support ensure that this remains the case and we work very hard to maintain our standards of behaviour for learning, dress and attendance.
Performing Arts are taught from Year 7 to 11. During Key Stage 3 students study the 3 main areas of Performing Arts: dance, drama and music. At Key Stage 4, students can opt to study Music or Performing Arts Btec.
We are willing to consider candidates with a teaching specialism in any of the 3 areas, however the successful candidate must have knowledge and ability to teach all 3 up to key stage 3.
The successful candidate must be prepared to organise the peripatetic staff and pupil timetable and be willing to offer extra-curricular opportunities for the pupils, such as school choir, dance or drama club.
