Southam College | Teacher of Philosophy and Ethics
Southam College is a popular, high performing and innovative 11-18 school at the centre of its community, closely located to Coventry, Leamington, Banbury and Leicestershire. In 2014 we were rated as ‘outstanding’ for the second time by Ofsted and in 2017 79% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and Maths. Our progress 8 score for 2017 was 0.51. We are determined to build on this success by:
• Raising achievement at GCSE and ‘A’ level
• Developing Learning and Teaching
• Enhancing the range of Memorable Experiences available to our students
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Philosophy and Ethics to join our successful team from April or September 2018. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Philosophy and Ethics with strong subject knowledge, working in an outstanding department. We are looking for a forward thinker with a focus on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences and a belief in our ‘can do’ culture where anything is possible. Passion is at the heart of our practice and it is essential that you have the ability to enthuse and motivate those around you.
At our school we value all our staff and every one of our 1645 students and see the investment in our staff as crucial as we look to build on previous successes for our students and across the school. We have an exemplary induction programme which provides an excellent foundation for career progression. It is a particularly exciting time to join us as we have recently formed Stowe Valley MAT, which is led by Southam College. This exciting development has further enhanced our ability to offer inspirational and supportive leadership and CPD opportunities for all of our staff.
If you are:
• passionate about your subject
• keen to teach motivated and enthusiastic students
• really want to make a difference to the lives of young people
then this might be just the job for you! If you have a passion for learning and teaching and really want to make a difference to the lives of young people, we would encourage you to join us at our caring and friendly school.
