Role Overview

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and able teacher to join a strong and lively department.

The PE department currently consists of five full-time teachers, assisted by teaching assistants and specialist coaches. This post comprises teaching P.E. and Sport throughout the school, across all three sections (Sixth Form, 7-11, and International school). The full-time role also involves leading and coordinating extra-curricular activities (sport, activities and weekend trips) for students aged 13-16 in the International School where 95% of students are boarders.

Overall responsibility for P.E. across the whole school is held by Jonathan Richards, Director of Sport and Activities. He is assisted by the Head of PE for Years 7-11 day school and three other teachers, one of whom is based in the International School (as in the advertised post). The Coordinator of the programme for after school and weekend activities at The International School reports directly to Ted McGrath, Head of TIS

The Person

We are looking for a talented teacher who is genuinely committed to enabling every student to enjoy P.E. and supporting them to achieve their potential.  A positive and flexible approach and passion for P.E. are qualities we value highly.

Necessary Qualifications

All applicants will be expected to have a good degree in PE or a related subject and to be able to demonstrate their teaching ability at interview. The School does not insist that its staff possess a PGCE or equivalent formal teaching qualification, though many members of staff do have an appropriate qualification.

All of the PE teachers are expected to drive the School’s minibuses (members of staff receive additional training as required). A clean driving licence is therefore essential.

Applicants should complete the Form entitled Application for a Teaching Post. This, along with a full Curriculum Vitae and a covering letter should be emailed to HR@doverbroecks.com and a signed copy sent to:
