The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), formed on 1 April 2019 and delivers post 16 education in Hereford, Stourbridge and Worcester. Hereford Sixth Form College is part of this Trust. The MAT has an annual budget of £28m and serves the needs of 5,500 students across the region.
Hereford Sixth Form College has over 2000 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results and extra-curricular provision. Rated Ofsted outstanding in 2007; the College consistently achieves one of the highest Advanced Level points scores per entry of over 100 SFC’s nationally and has outstanding value added results as measured by both the ALIS and ALPS systems.
The Physical Education Department combined with the Sports Academies is one of the largest departments in this highly successful Sixth Form College and provides a wide range of curriculum courses and opportunities for students within competitive and recreational sport. This post offers an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified person to join a team of experienced teachers, together with a full time Sports Academies Manager and numerous specialist coaches to support the sport programme.
The College has excellent academic and indoor facilities and extensive IT resources for staff and students and this is integral to teaching and learning within the department.
Teachers are expected to deliver across the whole range of our profile but where possible, individual strengths and preferences are taken into account. All staff are expected to contribute and maintain accurate records using well proven and developed departmental systems. The departmental ethos is that teaching and learning should be an interactive process and candidates would be expected to structure lessons to maximise student involvement and to engage learners with enjoyable, challenging sessions.
