The PE department at MV falls within the Humanities faculty. Sport and Physical Education is an important part of our offering and we are looking for someone who will come with creative ideas to increase student participation in Sport.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teaching practitioner with excellent subject knowledge who is keen see their students reach their academic potential. academic potential. Many of our PE students go on to work in the sport industry, so an interest and awareness in where PE can lead is crucial. A proven track record of success is also desirable to join our strong and supportive teaching team, who were graded “Outstanding” in March 2023.

The successful candidate will be able to deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. Experience of teaching another subject (for example, Health and Social Care) would be an advantage. A desire to contribute to the wider College curriculum would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.  Depending on the nature of the subjects offered by the candidate, we are open to considering either a full or part time working arrangement.

Melton Vale Sixth Form College (MV16) is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education centre in Leicestershire, serving students from the age of 16 to 18. It belongs to the Nova Education Trust.

MV16 opened in 2011. It offers A Level and BTEC courses, which range from photography to physics. Facilities include a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) which is equipped with library books, computers and wireless internet to allow for students to bring their own laptops in to work from.

Melton Vale Sixth Form College wants all students to develop as responsible, caring and accepting members of society who treat each other with respect and kindness. MV16 wants students to have as many opportunities as possible during their time studying and arranges regular careers talks and guidance from gap year organisations and local companies. Visits to universities are also organised to help students decide which path to take after leaving the learning centre.
