To stand on the shoulders of giants

The school is seeking an exceptional Physics Teacher to work with the Physics team to develop this unique exciting school as we prepare to open our sixth form from September 2018.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly committed, passionate physics teacher to further develop and deliver our unique knowledge-led curriculum aimed at giving students in one of the most deprived areas of the country access to a stimulating and enriching academic education. We are preparing to deliver A-Level physics from 2018. It would be an advantage if the successful candidate could offer either electronics or astronomy to GCSE.

Physics is central to the success of the school and we are looking for a talented individual who has a belief in the ability of all students to succeed at Physics. We are looking for an exceptional teacher who can demand the highest standards of behaviour and academic discipline from all pupils. As a school, curriculum development and reform is central to our success. We emphasize teaching the subject first and foremost and resist demands to teach to the test.

Most importantly you will be part of the team guiding our first cohort through A-Level Physics . This post is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and successful teacher with ample opportunity to develop your career as the school grows.   All are welcome to apply, but this post would particularly suit ambitious graduates and/or those teachers at the start of their career seeking a challenging and rewarding position.

Working in the South East

With the amenities and culture of London close by and the unspoiled countryside and coastline on your doorstep, the South East offers the best of both worlds.

Here you’ll find a number of national parks including the New Forest, a 500-square kilometre forest where wild ponies roam freely. Travel a little further out and you’ll be greeted by beautiful coastline; from the buzzing bars of Brighton, past sleepy fishing ports and along the white chalky cliffs of Dover, it’s enjoyed by local residents and a wealth of wildlife.

Being outside London, housing prices are cheaper than those in the city and the region also boasts a high percentage of Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' primary and secondary schools.
