Teacher of Primary (0.6fte)

Hardgate Primary is situated in in the Castle Douglas Cluster and is partnered with Springholm and Lochrutton Primary Schools. We have close relationships within our partnership and with the wider Castle Douglas Cluster.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic professional to join our committed partnership, which provides high quality primary education in a nurturing, relaxed, supportive and inclusive ethos.

The successful candidate will work initially within the P3/4 & P5-7 classes covering NCCT and management cover. They will support the children in developing the essential skills allowing them to become successful, confident and responsible contributors to the world they live in. We are looking for a dedicated member who is interested in providing high quality learning experiences within a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

This is a temporary post for up to 1 year to cover maternity leave. This post may be suitable for secondment.  Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
