Full-time
Closing Date: 28 October 2019

The science department at Bacon’s College is a vibrant and close-knit team. We have high expectations of ourselves and our students and we take pride in our supportive and collaborative culture. We are looking to appoint a teacher of science who shares this mindset and wants to inspire our next generation of scientists. Our results are improving year on year, with a 12% increase in our GCSE Combined Science students achieving grade 4 and above from 2018 to 2019 alone. Our A level results are good too. Our A level physicists, for example, achieved an ALPS score of 1 in August.
We are looking for a highly motivated science teacher, preferably with the ability to teach Chemistry up to KS5, although this is not essential.
This is an exciting time to join Bacon’s College as we rapidly improve. If you share our high expectations and are passionate about making a difference then we look forward to receiving your application.
United Learning
Bacon’s College joined United Learning as a new academy in Spring 2018. A large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
Bacon’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work at the school to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
