We are seeking to appoint a full-time Teacher of Science to join our popular school from September 2024 or January 2025. We are looking for someone who will inspire, provide the necessary care and outstanding tuition.
You will find our students to be friendly, enthusiastic and keen to do well. The successful candidate will teach Science at Key Stages 3 and 4 and have the opportunity to teach your specialist subject to A level. This post would suit an ECT looking for their first role, in an experienced and supportive Faculty, as well as a more experienced colleague looking to develop their practice in a school like AGS.

About Anthony Gell School
Anthony Gell School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Matlock, Derbyshire. It is a voluntary controlled state school. Slightly smaller than the average-sized secondary school, the school currently provides 823 places for secondary and sixth form students, and is over subscribed.
The school's origins go back to Anthony Gell, who founded a Free Grammar School in 1576, which has since gone through a number of changes. It moved to its present site in 1907, become a voluntary controlled school in 1944, turned into a co-educational comprehensive school in 1965 and had new sports facilities built in 2000.

Anthony Gell was also Derbyshire’s first specialist sports college, owning a number of state of the art sports facilities to help the student experience.
