St Peter’s School Huntingdon as part of The CAM Academy Trust is seeking to expand our Science department and employ a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Science to join our team in motivating and supporting our students to ensure outstanding progress. We are seeking a Physics specialist but will also consider applications for Biology and Chemistry.  The Science department has shown sustained success in driving forward results, in KS4 actual results 100% A*-C in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with 75% making at least 4 level of progress in the Triple Sciences.  We offer five A-level options, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology and Applied Science, which again have a strong achievement record, with most already showing a positive value added score. The opportunity to teach KS5 would be available for the right candidate.    

We are a supportive, hardworking and friendly team of staff with a desire to raise student achievement beyond expectation.  We have extensive resources to support teaching and learning and are constantly reflecting on our curriculum to make further improvements.  

We are seeking someone who will show their enthusiasm and be able to demonstrate their commitment by contributing to the innovation of pedagogy in our flourishing Science team.  St Peter’s is a successful and inclusive 11–18 comprehensive Academy which is celebrating another year of record results as it continues to drive up standards.  A focus on learning and academic performance is complemented by care, guidance and support of outstanding quality.  Staff support and high quality Professional Development are a priority.

St Peter’s School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Cambridgeshire, serving students between the ages of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Huntingdon has approximately 983 students on record. 

St Peter’s School was established in 1870 and converted to academy status in 2011.
