Our Science department has a proven track record of pupils making good progress in line or above the national average. We are delighted with the excellent progress our disadvantaged learners make and we are committed to offering a broad curriculum.
The Science department consists of ten teaching laboratories, three of which were built over the summer 2018. All labs have an Interactive White Board and a desktop computer, enabling you to deliver engaging lessons. Outside of the classrooms we have a computer suite that can also be utilised. Furthermore, you will benefit from a highly organised curriculum plan where all lessons are planned and stored on the Academy's online curriculum.
You will be stepping into a department of ten teachers with a range of skills and abilities, managed by the Head of Science, who is supported by the Deputy Leader of Science and Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator. There are also three technicians supporting the department. From the moment you join us you will feel welcomed and supported by an experienced and varied team, who are wholly focused on teaching and learning. As part of your induction into the Academy and the Science department, you will be well supported through a comprehensive programme of induction, training and coaching to ensure you continue to develop as a teacher.
If you are a talented professional with passion, commitment and resilience, and if you are driven to make a difference to the lives and futures of young people, we would like to hear from you.
