This is a good school with great students. We want each one of them to aspire to be the best they can be without any limitations and it is important to us that our teachers feel the same.
We want you to apply if you are hungry to grow and learn yourself, have a keen interest in becoming the best science teacher you can be, building effective relationships and transferring to students the same love for science that you yourself will have.
In return we can offer you:
• A strong team ethos, with caring colleagues
• High quality, bespoke training to help teachers and leaders develop their practice
• Superb students with supportive families
The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and well-led science team that runs a thriving STEM club with ambitions to grow further. You will need to be able to teach all three sciences to GCSE and, as science is popular at A level, the ability to teach physics to A level is desirable but not essential. The science department is very well resourced with teaching aids and equipment and each member of the science team has their own dedicated science lab and are well supported by three technicians.
All our teachers are supported in developing their professional practice through our own bespoke CPDL programme; and through our partnerships with both the Astra and Canons Park Teaching School Alliances.
We have a strong focus on education research to inform our practice and link closely with the Teacher Development Trust, NACE and SSAT.
Our staff tell us they genuinely feel like part of a team; a team who are striving to help each student flourish both academically and personally. That is important to us and if you are our kind of teacher, it will be important to you too.
It is an exciting time to join us as we embark upon a new school vision, in which you will play a key role. Our students and staff are keen to meet you and show off our fantastic school, so why not come and visit before you apply? This post would suit an NQT or a more experienced teacher and we very much welcome interested candidates to contact us to arrange an informal visit.
Please contact Hazel Baxter on 01273 729465 or email email@example.com to arrange a tour or if you would like to receive an application pack.
