At Therfield School Key Stage 3 students are taught Science as one subject with specific units on biology, chemistry, and physics topics. At Key stage 4 students follow one of two pathways: separate science GCSE’s in biology, chemistry and physics or combined science. For both pathways’ students are taught biology, chemistry, and physics as individual subjects by specialist teachers.
At Key stage 5 we offer A level’s in biology, chemistry and physics.
For a candidate of suitable experience or those who are looking to further develop their leadership skills there is the opportunity to apply for the role of second in charge of Science. This role is available as a one year fixed term TLR as part of a maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to contribute to the overall development of the department.
