The Science department at Tudor Grange Solihull consists of 13 specialist teachers who work closely as a team. The department has close links to other schools in the Tudor Grange family. A wide range of teaching and learning strategies are used in the delivery of Science including a focus on developing students’ independence and spontaneity.
High quality teaching, delivered by forward-thinking, creative classroom practitioners is at the heart of successful learning in the science department of Tudor Grange. Within the department we aim to create a positive working environment where students are given every opportunity to achieve to their potential. It is also important to us that members of staff feel valued and that they are supported fully in both their teaching and professional development.
Students are inducted into the department initially during the summer term of Year 6. They then follow the Collins Activate programme for KS3 science which is delivered and assessed in biology, chemistry and physics units. Our students transfer into their Key Stage 4 studies at the end of Year 8.
