Job overview
Salary: Main Scale
Permanent
From September 2022
This role is part of our determined effort to improve the quality of provision in Science, a core subject within the school, and to ensure that our vision is met. This vision is to be ‘outstanding in all we do’. One of our strategic aims is to ensure that we have a strong academic curriculum that is driven by the National Curriculum at Key Stage Three and the Ebacc qualification at Key Stage Four. Science plays a key part in this strategic aim.
This is a very exciting time for the Science department. There are leadership changes within Science and there is a revised energy around delivering a robust academic curriculum, underpinned by a focus on quality teaching and learning. The Science department has made progress in both of these, and the appointment of a new teacher will further strengthen the department. This post is suitable for either an ECT or a more experienced teacher.
We are a fully comprehensive school, and the successful candidate will be able to engage, inspire and challenge pupils across the full range of ability. The candidate must be driven by ensuring that pupils receive an outstanding education which is reflected in outstanding pupil outcomes.
What does St Anne’s offer?
A new and experienced Senior Leadership Team that is focused on providing a great education for the pupils in the school, including outcomes
An ambitious Senior Leadership Team that is committed to recognising and rewarding staff who do a great job
A Leadership Team that will support staff in a manner that reflects our Catholic ethos. Senior Leaders do value and appreciate the great staff who work here
An exciting opportunity to work with a department to shape the curriculum and the future direction of the Science department which has the potential to become outstanding
Excellent CPD opportunities for all as we believe strongly in developing our teachers to be the best
What are the governors looking for?
A teacher who believes in our Catholic Mission and will celebrate all our successes
A teacher who puts ‘pupils first’ and who doesn’t accept second best
A teacher who is ambitious in the best possible sense, and who is committed to pupil progression and excellence
A teacher who will be part of the longer-term future, ensuring St Anne’s becomes a school that is the pride of the local community that it serves
Our strong Catholic Ethos at St Anne’s means we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
