Copleston High School is a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. It was judged as a 'good school with outstanding features' by Ofsted in April 2013.
A committed and enthusiastic teacher is required to join our successful science department. Any subject specialism is welcome. We offer A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in addition to a Level 3 course in Applied Science.
At KS4 we follow the AQA course with some pupils doing Triple Science and the remainder doing combined science Trilogy qualification. Our 2- year KS3 course is an in-house course based on the KS3 national curriculum.
*The main focus of the TLR would be taking responsibility for leading KS3 but part of the role will be working alongside the existing leadership to support the further development of the department. All science labs are fitted with interactive whiteboards and extensive refurbishment of the labs was carried out a few years ago.
Applications are welcome from experienced teachers who are looking to
broaden their experience and can complement and enhance the department. The school has a strongly supportive ethos and is deeply committed to the professional development of staff. We offer an excellent induction programme to all colleagues who join us.
