Required for September 2018

NQT/MPS/UPS

The Littlehampton Academy is seeking to appoint a capable and enthusiastic science teacher. Teachers with a sports science background are also encouraged to apply. Both full and part-time will be considered.

A recruitment incentive of £2,000 (NQT), £4,000 (main scale) or £8,000 (UPS) will be paid on successful completion of probation (six months).

This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and ambitious school. The Littlehampton Academy is a large academy with a core ethos that supports the development of both staff and students. We are determined to improve student performance in all areas. You will be joining the academy at an exciting time and will have opportunities to contribute significantly. The successful candidate will be motivated, creative and resilient, possessing both the skills to deliver high quality teaching and learning, and the drive to ensure successful outcomes are reached.

The Science Faculty is a large team of enthusiastic and supportive teachers based in a suite of 14 newly refurbished and well-resourced laboratories.

Our current focus is the continued development of an innovative and engaging KS3 curriculum based on skills and independent enquiry, whilst at KS4, students follow a range of flexible and personalised learning pathways leading to a variety of accredited courses including AQA 9-1 GCSE science trilogy. At KS4 we also offer triple science; at post-16, courses include physics, chemistry and biology to A2 Level.

Our teaching staff also contribute to the welfare of students in their role of group tutor.

If you are passionate, driven and ready to join a dynamic team that is making rapid progress, we would love to hear from you.
